anger management issues.

I've been wanting to punch lots of people. Sometimes I want to punch them in their face, sometimes in other body parts. I'm not sure why I've been having so many violent urges lately. It must be because I'm surrounded by idiots.

Here's the latest stupid thing from work.

Apparently a family left one of the programs last week. She had an extremely negative interaction with one of the staff members and took off. On Wednesday another coworker drove by the family's apartment and noticed a kitten in the window. She went to the window and the kitten was crying and trying to claw itself out the window and door. From what my coworker could tell, it was very skinny and dirty. Knowing that the family had been gone for at least a week, she called the supervisor of the program (also happens to be my supervisor) to tell her that the kitten was stuck and was probably starving to death. She was very upset by this kitty's frantic attempts to get out of the apartment. My supervisor promised her she would do something about the kitten. On Thursday morning right before my meeting was going to start my cell phone rang. The coworker who found the kitten called to tell me what had happened the day before. She was at the apartment and the kitten was still there. She saw it laying in the window and thought it was dead but she woke it up by banging on the window. At this point my coworker was really upset because she had been promised that something would be done and the kitten was still there. She called me because she was unable to reach anyone else. I told her that my supervisor and the case manager that works with the family would be at a meeting at another building. I suggested they call the landlord, get a key to the apartment and get the kitty out. She decided to go find them there. At the meeting, my supervisor and the case manager went round and round about how they would get the kitten out and whether or not it was legal to get it out without her permission. Apparently my coworker finally convinced them that it is not cool to let a kitten starve to death and they called the landlord. About an hour later my coworker called me again to tell me she was in the apartment and it was awful. The kitten was all skin and bones and there was no food or water anywhere. She said it looked like the litter hadn't been changed in forever and the apartment was just trashed. I told her to call the humane society and see what they suggested. She said the case manager had mentioned not taking the cat because the family would be upset if they return. Who cares?? The family left the damn thing there in the first place! If they are upset, it should be because they are assholes, not because they miss their cat. She ended up calling the humane society and then she took the kitten there. Later I found out that when my supervisor had promised to do something about it, all she did was make a phone call to the case manager and left a voicemail. She never planned on doing anything else. Even my other coworker who does not enjoy cats thought this was ridiculous and that they should have gotten the kitten out as soon as they realized it had been left there.

Longwinded, I know. I'm just so frustrated.
