It was a shower filled weekend. Not only did I take a shower on Saturday morning, I was the target of a bridal shower on Saturday afternoon. Yes, I know I'm already married and these things usually occur before the nuptials as an opportunity to prepare the bride-to-be for the awkwardness of being the center of attention at the upcoming wedding. I have attended showers and have even given lingerie to the virgin-bride just to up the notch of embarrassment in front of elderly family members. Of course my gift was funny because it was pretty, red, silky lingerie that screamed, "SLUT THAT PROBABLY LIKES IT UP THE BUTT!" as opposed to pretty, white, lacy lingerie that blushingly whispers, "slut that probably likes it up the butt." Maybe it wasn't that funny. Anyway, back to my bridal shower as an already married old maid.

It was wonderful!!

Some of my closest friends and family were there and I don't think anyone felt awkward (well, maybe my 10-year-old niece felt awkward but that was probably because she's 10-years-old). I certainly didn't feel awkward. Not even when I opened the Horny Goat Weed from one of my best friends in the world. We all had fun and everything about the shower was comfortable, yet elegant. The food and the decorations, just lovely!

Now there is just one more wedding event and we will be done. I hope the last event goes as well as the shower went!
