The professor engaged the class of 20 students in a conversation about communication. Her main point was that words sometimes have several meanings and not everyone knows every meaning. For example, when she was growing up, people started to say, "that's bad" when they really meant "that's good." She asked the class for other examples. A woman sitting in the front row was wearing a very professional business suit. After class she goes to work as a social worker at a local hospital. She raised her hand because she had an example to share.
"Sometimes my granddaughter likes to take baths with me. One time she said, "Grandma! Why is your pee-pee hairy and mine isn't?" She calls her girl part a pee-pee!"
Silence.
