A couple days before our wedding a friend came to me and told me she thought Jesse and I shouldn't get married. This was an awful experience for me. It was awful because it was the last thing I wanted to hear and it was awful because I knew my friend didn't mean it. I knew her words meant that her mental illness was back in full force and we were in Vegas and I couldn't help her the way she needed me to because I had a wedding and a new marriage to focus on. But what I want to share with you is that if you hear about someone telling the bride-to-be she shouldn't get married, please don't call the newlywed to laugh about what happened. I know you might not know about the mental illness aspect of the situation but I think it would have been even less funny if craziness hadn't been a factor!! Should you call to laugh about what happened, the newlywed will be horrified and hurt that you think the situation was funny. And then she will blog about you.
