catch up...

Time to catch up. Again. I suck.

Thursday afternoon I went to the Tigers vs. Twins game with Joel. It was a lot of fun to hang out with Joel and watch some baseball. Since the Tigers kick ass they won the game. Hearing the sports announcers talk about how awesome the Tigers are is a very strange phenomenon. I get all confused and disoriented. I love it!

Friday evening we went to Dexter to babysit my niece and nephew. My sister and her husband went out to celebrate their 16 year anniversary. I can't believe they have been married that long! I have fond memories of their wedding. It was the first time I got drunk in front of my parents. I was 16 years old. I remember dancing with my dad and he asked me, "are you drunk?" and I said, "no. Are you?" and then we both cracked up and kept dancing. And the hangover the next day sucked but everyone else was feeling the pain too so nobody said anything.

Saturday morning we got up early and went up north to church camp. They had an open house day where people could come and see the camp before camping season starts. Jesse had never been there and I wanted him to see the place that had a profound impact on who I have become. I know, it's church camp and I sometimes might not seem so church-y. But it's an amazing place and I feel peaceful there. My best friendships were made there. If something strange happens and I actually breed, my hope is that my spawn will also go there and make amazing lifelong friendships.

After camp we went to Grand Rapids to hang out with Joanna and Erica again. We had tons of fun. Drank lots of beer and wine and beer. And some people drank other stuff too.

Michigan has this law that some professionals are mandated to report suspected child/adult abuse and/or neglect. People in social work jobs are mandated to report. Since I don't have a job and am not a member of the National Association of Social Workers or in the MSW program yet, I am no longer a mandated reporter. Which means I can post this really funny photo that may, or may not, have been taken this weekend at someone's house that I stayed at, and not have to report it to child protective services.
