the village is at it again.

Yesterday someone posted this article about the dangers of drivers talking on cell phones. I haven't read the article. People in the village must be incredibly bored because many many people have responded.

This response made me laugh:
"Just for the record, the IHHS is notorious for oversimplifying issues, and producing dubious studies. Don't take what they say as gospel. First, the study was done in Australia, where a predominately right handed populace drives on the left ("wrong") side of the road. It might affect the results. Also, if conversation is so un-safe, we should issue muzzles to all passengers, especially mothers in law and small children, to keep them from talking and causing a crash. Come to think of it, this may not be such a bad idea...."

It's just funny to call it the "wrong" side of the road when most countries drive on that very same "wrong" side.

But then it got even funnier when this reply came in...
"In Regards to Mr.Rs comments about the IHHS Study and it being done in Australia. Just because Australians drive on the right side of the road, does not make them wrong. I have noticed a strange Autocratic change in Mr. R since his company was bought by a German Corporation. As to muzzling passengers, I take great offense that Mr. R, who has neither a mother-in-law or any small children, (Which I am sure if he did would not only be beautiful, but musically accomplished as well), would make comments like this on this web site. I am outraged! I don't even muzzle my dog when I drive her in the car, and trust me - she is chatty! I am sure it would cost the Auto companies millions of dollars to properly test and install passenger and rear seat muzzles, it could cripple the industry! Please don't get any Engineers involved in this discussion or our lives could be greatly altered, and not for the better!"

Because it's email and I don't know this person, I can't tell if he is kidding. I really hope he is. Because really, come on now. No. Really.

Personal issues? Ouch! Someone's got a grudge! Both of them!
